Mikaela Shiffrin
Resident Olympic Gold Medalist
Born and raised in the Vail Valley, U.S. Ski Team member Mikaela Shiffrin is the reigning three-time Overall World Cup champion and the four-time reigning World Champion in slalom. Shiffrin won her first Olympic gold medal in Sochi, Russia in 2014, making her the youngest slalom champion in Olympic alpine skiing history. At the 2018 Pyeong Chang Winter Olympics, Shiffrin won both a gold medal in giant slalom and a silver medal in the super combined.
Shiffrin trains regularly at the Athletic Club. She also holds exclusive events at the resort where she shares her racing experiences and training tips with guests and local fans.

Josiah Middaugh
Resident World Champion
Josiah Middaugh is well known throughout the Vail Valley as an elite level, multi-disciplined athlete. Middaugh is a 13-time XTERRA USA World Champion, the 2015 XTERRA World Champion and a 6-time USSSA National Snowshoe Champion. Middaugh coaches the Athletic Club at the resort's Masters Swim program, as well as athletes of all levels and aspirations through his Middaugh Coaching.

Thomas Walsh
Resident Paralympian
Thomas Walsh is a native of the Vail Valley and a member of the U.S. Paralympics Alpine Ski National Team. He is the World Para Alpine Skiing World Cup Slalom Champion for 2018-19, a two-time 2019 World Para Alpine Championship medalist, a 5th place finisher at his first Paralympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang 2018, and has earned numerous victories and podiums across all disciplines at the World Para Alpine World Cup level. He credits the lessons learned in the discipline of sports to overcome a rare pediatric bone cancer. Thomas pursues an active and healthy mountain lifestyle.

Chris Anthony
Resident Mountain Historian
A Colorado native and longtime Vail Valley resident, Chris Anthony spent 27 years as a member of the Warren Miller film team as both a professional skier and host of the nationally-acclaimed film tour. A member of the Colorado Snowsports Hall of Fame, Anthony also directed the documentary “Climb to Glory: Legacy of the 10th Mountain Ski Troopers.” He is dedicated to preserving the history of the 10th Mountain Division, who transformed the U.S. ski industry after a historic campaign in Italy during World War II.
